The non-stick coating commonly known as Teflon was invented in the 1930s. Cookware coated with Teflon made flipping foods and cleanup a breeze. Decades later, the safety of Teflon came into question. It originally contained a chemical called PFOA, which has been linked to conditions such as cancer.
Since 2013, non-stick products have not contained PFOA. Non-stick products produced since that year are unlikely to release toxins so long as cooking temperatures remain below 570 Fahrenheit – a temperature that your air cooker should never reach!
